Abstract

Degenerative diseases, injuries of the musculoskeletal system significantly reduce the quality of human life. Shock-wave loading is used to treat degraded bone tissue. This paper presents the results of numerical simulation of shock-wave loading of two-layer model samples of healthy biological tissues and those affected by osteoarthritis and osteoporotic arthritis. It was found that low-intensity acoustic exposure of the cortical tissue creates conditions for the treatment of osteoporotic phenomena. The application of a load in the area of cartilage promotes the generation of bone and biological tissues at great depths from the loading source.
