Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch has been designed to analyse changes in the aerodynamic parameters of the single-phase air flow in a multi-channel cylindrical cyclone for separation of particular matter from the flow, involving the task of numerical modelling for the tangential inlet cyclone. The research contains a review of numerical modelling works for cyclones, applicable models and equations for the complex description of turbulent flow. Differential equations are provided to reflect numerical solutions using the finite-volume method and k-ε turbulence model. The values obtained have been compared with the physical model of the given cyclone. The mean relative error for velocity values is ±8.1% and for aerodynamic resistance – 11.9%.
