Abstract

Abstract: The Exhaust manifold is an important component which affects the performance of the I.C engine. The exhaust system for any type of vehicle consists of an exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, resonator and a muffler which is connected to a tailpipe. Exhaust gases at the end of exhaust stroke are sent to the exhaust manifold through exhaust valves. The exhaust manifold has to withstand and operate under high exhaust temperature and pressure. The design aspect of the exhaust manifold has to be done through trial and error method to find the optimum layout to extract the performance of the manifold.
