Abstract

Three-dimensional Euler equations are used to investigate the flowfield around a counter-rotation propeller in flight at a Mach 0.8. Two volumes including front and rear blades are solved separately. The interaction between both blades is included in the calculation by the connecting surfaces. The non-iterative implicit ADI (alternating direction implicit) scheme is used in order to solve the Euler equations. The periodic steady solution is obtained. This simulates the relative motion of the blades
