Abstract

A study is made of the classical problem of steady flow of ideal gas from an infinite two-dimensional chamber with straight wall generator making angle θw with the symmetry plane of the flow. Specification of θw, the pressure ratio ɛa-Pa/Po (Po is the stagnation pressure of the gas in the chamber, Pα is the pressure in the ambient medium), and the specific-heat ratio χ completely determines the flow of gas from the chamber.
