Abstract

The problem of modeling failures in systems of gas transportation, which are accompanied by the efflux of large volumes of natural gas from a broken pipeline into the atmosphere, has been considered. Using numerical methods, the maximum size of a dangerous zone is determined in order to evaluate the scale of catastrophes involving vertical gas outburst (perpendicular to the wind direction).
