Abstract

The spectral collocation method and the finite-element method (FEM) are employed to numerically solve the Fokker–Planck (FP) equation. The methods are validated by comparison with an analytical approximation for high energy barriers. The numerical methods are employed to analyze a case of thermally activated switching.
