Abstract

In this article, the authors obtain the numerical solution of the Benjamin Bona Mahony (BBM) Burgers’ equation using the hybrid B-spline collocation technique. In this technique, the hybrid B-spline collocation technique is used to discretize the space derivatives while the usual finite difference method is used to discretize the time derivative. The non-linear terms, in the BBM Burgers’ equation, are linearized with the use of Rubin Graves type linearization process. The efficiency and reliability of the technique are illustrated through numerical example. It is observed that the obtained approximate solutions are more accurate than the existing solutions in the literature.
