Abstract
We consider the inverse problem for the FitzHugh–Nagumo mathematical model describing wave propagation in excitable media. The problem involves determining a localized excitation source from observations on the exterior boundary of the region. A numerical solution method is proposed and computer experiments illustrating its implementation are reported.
