Abstract
In this paper, we studies on the numerical solution for the inverse problem and try to use it to solve the image interpolation problem. Image interpolation is defined to generate a high resolution image from an input low resolution image. Firstly, we formally describe the image interpolation problem by constructing the vectors of high resolution image, low resolution image and additive noises respectively. Secondly, to tackle the image interpolation problem, a successive approximation numerical solution for the inverse problem is proposed. After a lot of iterations, the high resolution image with high quality can be obtained. Thirdly, 12 typical test images are exploited to make performance evaluation, and experimental results prove that our proposed method performs better than traditional methods.
