Abstract

We have performed large scale Monte Carlo simulations on the three-dimensional random field Ising model. Above T c the susceptibility and correlation length have effective critical exponents similar to the pure two-dimensional Ising model. However, for moderate random fields the transition is first order and perhaps remains so for arbitrarily small fields.
