Abstract

Based on the problem of the height and angle of the burner setting of a rotary furnace in a steel plant, the three-dimensional model was built using ANSYS software to simulate the influence of the burner on the temperature field and flow field in the rotary hearth furnace at different heights and different inclination angles. The results show that the lower the height of the burner, the more uneven the temperature distribution near the carbon-containing pellet layer and the lower the temperature; the inclination angle of the burner is too small, which will cause the temperature near the layer to be too high; large, will cause the flow field near the material layer to be disordered, which is not conducive to the reduction reaction. By comparing the simulation results, a reasonable arrangement height and angle are obtained to provide reliable data for the production of the rotary hearth furnace.
