Abstract

This paper describes a three-dimensional finite difference calculation procedure for the turbulent dispersal in the vicinity of a rectangular building with a short adjacent stack. The mathematical model comprises differential equations for continuity, momentum and concentration. The solution procedure employ SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) algorithm. The turbulence model incorporated in the present procedure is the mixing length model. The prediction procedure is applied to predict the Flowfield and concentration field around the same trends as measured ones, and the quantitative agreement is found to be in general good.
