Abstract
ABSTRACT Grid division has been made in a rigid solar array and the fully implicit discrete equations have been acquired. On the basis of fully considering the packing factor and the working efficiency, detailed computational methods are shown for all the external fluxes. The solution of discrete equations is obtained by the alternating direction iteration method. The characteristics of the transient temperature field in the solar array in quasi-steady state when the influence of initial temperature is eliminated are indicated. The packing factor and the working efficiency should be considered in thermal analysis of solar array in order to get the precise temperature. This article should be useful in the design of solar arrays.
