Abstract

The electromagnetic scattering and propagation of the periodic surface shows some special and valuable properties. In this paper, the electromagnetic scattering from dielectric periodic surface is studied. Rayleigh hypothesis, Huygens principle and Floquet theory are used to expand the scattering field by Fourier transform, and the expression of the scattering field is obtained. Based on the special structure of periodic surface, the amplitude formula of scattering field is acquired by extended boundary condition method (EBCM) and T-matrix method, and then the scattering field can be obtained. At the same time, the law of conservation of energy is used to verify the correctness of the algorithm. By studying the scattering problem of a finite periodic surface, we derive the formula for calculating the scattering cross section of an infinite periodic surface. Finally, the data of scattering cross section under different incident parameters are compared, and we can quantitatively analyze the influence of various factors on the scattering of periodic surface.
