Abstract

The GAMMA10 tandem mirror contains neutral beam injectors at the anchor mirror cells to increase the number of high-energy ions there for magnetohydrodynamic stability. We calculate the population of high-energy ions by using the bounce-averaged Fokker-Planck code for various background neutral densities and electron temperatures. We compare the simulation results with results of a point model and make clear the validity of the point model.
