Abstract

The laminate-containment structure is a kind of high-efficiency containment structure, which reduces the eddy current and increases the velocity of the armature. However, the research on the whole launching process of the laminate-containment launcher is rarely mentioned. In order to realize the numerical simulation of the whole launching process of the laminate-containment launcher, a simplified model of the laminate-containment launcher is established, and the electromagnetic–mechanical coupling calculation of the model is carried out by using the finite-element analysis (FEA). In the process of calculation, the pulse power source (PPS) program and electromagnetic field co-simulation are used to realize the field-circuit coupling calculation of the launching process. The movement of the armature during the launching process is realized by an embedded interior ballistic program. This calculation method provides a way to deeply understand the launching process of the laminate-containment launcher.
