Abstract

Motivated by experiments on high-Tc superconducting compounds and made possible by the power of present day supercomputers, the quantum Monte Carlo method is used to gain more insight into Hubbard-like many particle models for these high-Tc materials. We report on numerical studies of various high-Tc models, the quantum Monte Carlo method is described in detail. For the simulations we employed predominantly the projector quantum Monte Carlo method (PQMC) to study the ground state properties of the systems. Our calculations are based on a generalized version of this technique allowing us a simultaneous treatment of fermions and dynamical phonons.
