Abstract

A two-fluid model was adopted to simulate the three-dimensional gas-liquid flow in an aeration tank. The different operation parameters of aeration tank were simulated with the model, and the gas-liquid flow behavior in aeration tank was analyzed. The simulation results agree qualitatively with the operating conditions in literature and actual plant. Application of the model was demonstrated by analyzing the impact of changing the operational mode on aeration speed conditions.
