Abstract

This paper reports the double diffusive magnetoconvection in an inclined porous parallelogrammic enclosure. The left and right inclined walls are respectively retained at higher and lower temperatures and concentrations, while the horizontal walls are kept as insulated and impermeable. In addition, the enclosure contains a heat source and applied a constant magnetic field in the horizontal direction. The governing equations from the Darcy model formulation are solved using the finite difference method. The results are portrayed to demonstrate the consequences of Darcy-Rayleigh number, Hartmann and Lewis numbers, buoyancy ratio and the heat generation or absorption parameter on the flow pattern, temperature and concentration distributions. In addition, the variation of heat and mass transfer rates are presented through the average Nusselt and Sherwood numbers and are discussed for different set of parameters.
