Abstract

The paper describes the modeling of a compressible and turbulent gap flow at high gas pressures and high gas temperatures. A description of the measuring technique applied and a detailed explanation of the numerical procedure is given. The comparison of theory and experiment validates the gap flow model used for predicting gas leakage effects in high pressure piston devices.
