Abstract

The methane/air gas combustion in ring porous medium burner is simulated using steadily and unsteadily two-dimensional single temperature model. Research focuses on combustion characteristics under different conditions of methane/air ratio, the velocity of flow and heat loss of internal and external wall of the burner. Numerical results show that the ring porous medium burner has some advantages different from straight or rectangular. Due to annular asymmetric structure, the temperature distribution in the ring porous medium burner is more uniform, and no unfavorable phenomenon such as the local high temperature and the hot spots.
