Abstract
A numerical method for the computation of the entropic solution for transonic flow is developed and studied. Within the use of the pseudo-time-formulation, stability for Δt → 0 + is provided. Finite element implementation of the artificial compressibility method and time-dependent treatment of the Kutta-Joukowski condition are included. Test examples of the flow around NACA 0012 and RAE 2822 airfoils for supercritical flows are presented.
