Numerical Reproduction on the Extinction of Stochastic Population System

Abstract

Cai, Guo and Mao (2024) recently constructed a structure preserving numerical method for the n-dimensional stochastic Lotka–Volterra model and showed its strong convergence. Nevertheless, people are also concerned with whether the numerical methods are capable of reflecting the true dynamical behaviors. In this work, we will further show that this numerical method is able to reproduce the extinction of the population model under the same parametric condition. The main results are finally illustrated by computer simulations.
