Abstract

To solve high velocity impact problems, such as projectile penetration and blasting, a numerical model should be established that can account for the mechanical behavior of materials under dynamic loading. The numerical model should include both the equation of state of materials, which describes the state of the materials under given loading conditions, and constitutive equations for material failure and damage. In this paper, we introduced numerical models for simulating the dynamic behavior of concrete under high velocity impact and the determination of associated parameters, and described the applicability of these models to rock mass modeling.
