The paper discusses the possibility of using Lagrangian coordinates to predict the transformation of long waves of different origins near the coasts, necessary in the design, construction, and operation of protective structures, as well as a wide range of environmental problems related, among others, to the spread of pollutants. Results of numerical investigations, compared with analytical solutions, showed satisfactory coincidence.
