Abstract

The dependability of numerical formulations in favor of solving one dimensional kinematic and diffusion wave equation with the purpose of describing mathematical modeling of parabolic channel. This study is concerning the improvement and appliance of mathematical modeling that is base on the Saint Venant's equations, to learn the numerical modeling of one dimensional unsteady parabolic channel. The momentum and continuity equation are transformed to useful partial differential equation which has two parameters associated to discharge and cross-sectional area. In computing process, after computing the discharge from the momentum equation, the cross-sectional area can be obtained from the continuity equation intended for a known summit of channel. By using the explicated finite difference method, we developed some numerical schemes. To estimate the performance of the control variables, several methods for parabolic channel will be measured and different simulation is performing.
