Abstract

An algorithm and software for calculations taking into account the temporal and vertical variability of wind velocity for the plains whose surface roughness can be considered uniform are developed to evaluate the primary energy and time characteristics of operation of wind-electric facilities of increased power (from 60 to 1.2 MW). It is found that in the limits of the atmospheric boundary layer the error when replacing the wind velocity that is weight averaged over the surface swept by the wind turbine rotor by the wind velocity at the level of the wind turbine axis does not exceed 1% for all types of atmospheric temperature stratification.
