Abstract
This paper presents the numerical evaluation of the multiuser MIMO beamforming algorithms ZF and DFT based codebook using the least square (LS) channel estimation. To perform downlink beamforming the estimated channel response is used. The channel frequency response is estimated using pilot subcarriers distributed over the time-frequency resource grid. For MIMO channel simulation the QUADRIGA channel model reflecting the real propagation conditions is used. The generated channels are used to calculate the estimate of channel, SINR and the spectral efficiency of each user applying the conventional ZF and DFT codebok beamforming. The DFT codebook precoding is based on the channel quantisation and as channel state information uses the computed index and norm feedback. The obtained performance of MU-MIMO ZF and DFT codebok based beamforming in spatially correlated channel are compared based on the empirical cumulative density function of the sum rate of multiple users. Numerical results show that the sum rate performance depends of channel estimation accuracy. Obtained results can be used by the user grouping algorithm evaluation in the system level simulations.
