Abstract

Numerical investigations have been undertaken to study the electro-thermo-convective flow in a horizontal plane layer of a dielectric liquid subjected to charge injection and thermal gradient. Beyond the critical values of the appropriate parameters governing the growing of the instability, the convective motion of the liquid appears. The effect of the action of both electric and thermal fields in the dielectric liquid subjected to a charge injection is then analyzed through the behavior of the flow in the cases where these fields compete or cooperate.
