Abstract

The present paper presents a new model for the prediction of spray-wall impingement based on experimental data. This statistical model describes the droplet diameter, velocity, and mass rate of the secondary spray as a function of the kinematic impingement parameters and fluid properties of the impinging droplet. For validation of this model, it was incorporated into an Eulerian-Lagrangian two-phase flow code. The results were compared with experimental data obtained with a simple flow configuration and with other models that have been used in the past.
