Abstract

The procedure for resonant modes detection in a cylindrical metallic cavity, based on reflection and transmission characteristic, is presented in the paper. An analysis of procedure efficiency to resonant modes identification is conducted numerically and experimentally verified. As a numerical tool, TLM time-domain method, enhanced with the wire compact model to account for the presence of feed and monitoring probes, is used. Results of reflection and transmission procedure are compared, in terms of modes identification and resonant frequency dependence of probe length.
