Abstract
We analyzed characteristics of tidal current and sediment transport processes in the Ohta flood-way using a 3-D baroclinic numerical model in which a sediment transport model was integrated. The results were compared with the field data obverved at 2.8 km upstream from the river mouth (Sta. A). The numerical model reproduces the main characteristics of the field data at Sta. A. In the Ohta flood-way, strong resuspention occurs at the beginning of flood current. From the horizontal distribution of deposition thickness, it is found that there is characteristic erosion near the river mouth and there is the significant deposition at 3-5 km upstream from the river mouth.
