Abstract

Sintered particle trajectories in the electrostatic precipitator(EP) have been studied numerically in this study. There are live discharge electrodes in the geometry configuration. The discharge electrodes are placed inside the collecting electrodes channel which is 300mm in height, the wire-to-wire distance of each discharge electrode is 500mm. The particle trajectories in the electrostatic precipitator have been investigated considering different inlet flow velocity (1m/s, 1.5 m/s), particle diameter(5μm, 50μm) and applied voltage (56 kV, 63 kV). Results show that it would get better EP efficiency with increasing particle diameter and applied voltage. However, back corona phenomena may be induced if the charged particles are accumulated on the collecting electrode plate.
