Abstract

A numerical analysis is made of nonlinear transient light scattering by hypersound in a nonlinear medium. It is shown that random amplitude modulation of a Stokes wave excited by stimulated Brillouin scattering initiated from a seed noise disappears on transition to the nonlinear regime. It is also shown that two pairs of light waves may undergo mutual phase locking as a result of their four-wave interaction with the same hypersonic wave.
