Abstract

A kinetic model is developed for a chemical laser utilizing the chains reaction between Cl2 and vibrationally excited hydrogen. Numerical calculations are made of the influence of the degree of excitation of the H2, and of the pressure, chemical composition, and temperature of the mixture on the lasing characteristics of this laser. It is shown that in spite of slightly inferior energy parameters, compared with HF lasers the system under study has better characteristics than known HCl laser systems.
