Abstract

This paper introduces an efficient technique for achieving the direction of arrival (DoA) method using nullforming and steering with two concentric circular arrays that can effectively detect the direction of a signal of interest. This method is counteractive to the traditional beamforming method where the new method will scan for the nulls rather than the beams to determine the desired DoA and also leverage from orthogonal arrays to cancel the false nulls. Consequently, this method can be achieved with high resolution and a lesser number of antenna elements. The design equations and methodology have been presented as well as the relevant results have been introduced.
