Abstract
On December 8, 2015 two new norms regulating the processes of nullity of marriage came into effect. These norms had been ordered by Pope Francis through his m.p. Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus and his m.p. Mitis et misericors Iesus, the first for the Latin Church and the second for the Eastern churches. The present article offers a presentation of MI, with references to the most relevant developments and to the doctrinal opinions that have been expressed in relation to MI. In addition, the author of the article offers his opinion on particular issues which he considers of special interest.
