Abstract

Adenosine mono-, di-, and tri-phosphates, cytidine mono-, di-, and tri-phosphates, guanosine di- and tri-phosphates, uridine di- and tri-phosphates, di- and tri-phosphopyridine nucleotides, uridine diphosphoglucose, α-glycerophosphate, arginine phosphate, glucose-6-phosphate, and orthophosphate have been tentatively identified in cockroach nerve and their approximate tissue concentrations determined by a radio-chemical technique. The amount of phospholipid has also been determined radiometrically and by direct chemical analysis. The concentrations found were comparable with those reported for mammalian nervous tissue except for the concentrations of cytidine and uridine nucleotides which appeared to be higher in the insect.
