Abstract
The nucleotide sequence of nuclear 5.7S RNA of mouse cells was determined. The 5.7S RNA consists of two species with two base substitutions. Both 5.7S RNAs contain 145 nucleotide residues with one mole each of m 3 2,2,7G, Gm and Cm, two moles of Am and three moles of ψ as modified nucleosides. Like several other small nuclear RNAs, this RNA has a cap structure, m 3 2,2,7GpppAm-, at its 5′-terminus and sequences complementary to the terminal sequences of the splice junctions of heterogeneous nuclear RNAs.
