Abstract
A full-length ds eDNA copy of UK bovine rotavirus gene segment 9, which codes for a nonstructural protein, has been cloned into the PstI site of pBR322, and its sequence has been determined by cloning into bacteriophage M13mp8. Gene 9 is 1076 nucleotides long and contains a single, long, open-reading frame capable of coding for a protein of 313 amino acid residues. The possible function of this nonstructural protein in virus replication is discussed.
