Abstract

The nucleon-deuteron scattering amplitude is investigated on the basis of a Feynmandiagram technique. A superposition of an exchange pole and triangle graphs is considered. With the aid of some reasonable approximations, the triangle amplitude is given in terms of a nucleon-nucleon amplitude. Angular distributions up to 155-MeV proton energy are calculated for $p\ensuremath{-}d$ scattering using a phase-shift analysis for the nucleon-nucleon amplitude. Good agreement with the experimental results is obtained.
