Abstract
The site selective laser spectroscopy of KCl:Sm 2+ has been studied. A total of nine sites have been identified. Our results indicate that only the C 2ν(110) (Sm K·V K) x single pair site contributes appreciably to the spectrum. The minor sites are attributed to clustering of other (Sm K·V K) x pairs.
