Abstract

The review deals with basic elements of DNA structure, DNA interactions, importance of non-specific DNA cleavage, transition metal complexes that cleave DNA through redox chemistry and observations of the author and his associates on gel electrophoresis experiments using plasmid DNA with a series of 2-substituted heteroaronlatic semicarbazones and thiosemicarbazones and their copper(II) complexes.
