Abstract

First, the nuclear shape vibrations of a liquid drop in the presence of fast rotation are analysed. Second, the RPA dispersion equations are derived for a rotating nuclear system. Third, the interplay between nuclear shape- and pairing vibrations is studied in the rotating frame of reference in terms of an exactly solvable model. As a result, some qualitative conclusions concerning the vibrations in a rotating nucleus are drawn.
