Abstract

In suspension cultures of mouse fibroblasts partially synchronized with 5-fluorodeoxyuridine there was a delay of about two hours between mitosis and the separation of daughter cells. As judged by the rates of incorporation of [8- 14C]hypoxanthine, the synthesis of nuclear RNA decreased somewhat during the period of DNA synthesis, increased markedly as the latter slowed, and remained active before and after mitosis.
