Abstract

Calculations are presented for cross section σ(Eν) of solar neutrino capture by 71Ga nuclei. The calculations are based on experimental data on force function S(E) obtained in charge-exchange reactions 71Ga(p, n)71Ge and 71Ga(3He, t)71Ge. Charge-exchange force function S(E) for 71Ga is calculated using the self-consistent theory of finite Fermi systems. The effect the resonance structure of S(E) has on calculated cross section σ(Eν) is studied. It is shown that the resonance part adds about 5% to the rate of the reaction estimated with only discrete states.
