Abstract

It is proposed that the nuclear quadrupole spin-lattice relaxation in glasses is due to interaction of solitons with the nuclear quadrupole moment. The magnitude of the interaction is estimated and the resulting temperature dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation time is compared to experiment.
