Abstract
We report here immunocytochemical studies of NeuN protein expression in neurons in the substantia nigra (SN) of the human brain (n = 14, age 27–78 years). Weak positive reactions for NeuN protein were seen in some SN neurons, while other neurons were negative. Overall, reactions for NeuN protein in neurons in the human SN were weaker than in red nucleus neurons in the same sections.
