Abstract

Naval Engineers JournalVolume 81, Issue 2 p. 113-119 NUCLEAR MERCHANT SHIP ECONOMICS—A TWENTY-YEAR FORECAST MR. FRANK KESTERMAN, MR. FRANK KESTERMAN THE AUTHOR: assistant to the Chief of the Office of Research and Development, MARAD VMS project engineer on the Advanced Nuclear Cargo Ship Study. Formerly associated with the Nuclear Power Division at San Francisco Bay Naval Shipyard, he held positions in the mechanical engineering, radiological control and reactor refueling branches from 1962–1966. Mr. Kesterman is a 1959 graduate of the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy and has an M.B.A. degree from American University. He Has also done graduate study in nuclear engineering and business administration at the University of California (Berkeley), San Francisco State College and Columbia University. Also a veteran of both the Navy and the Merchant Marine and was a former partner of Inter-Island Marine Co., St. Kitts, British West Indies. He is the author of the following publications among others: “New Life for SAVANNAH”, Ocean Industry, December, 1968 “Technical, Operational and Economic Report on the N.S.
